Air injection Iron or Sulfur Removal
Do you have an iron problem from your well that is staining and ruining your appliances, sinks, tubs and showers? Or maybe you have a well that has a low amount of sulfur and want to simplify your water system? If so, the new air injection units are a lot less maintenance, and mess.
A process called oxidation filtration is a common, non-chemical method used to remove iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide (egg odor) from the drinking water. This process first introduces an oxidant (air) by draw, to convert the un-filterable dissolved contaminants to particles that can be filtered by a special and specific granular media within the lower section of the unit.
These units are quite effective for iron levels up to a 5 (ppm), and a sulfur level of 2 (mg/L). If the sulfur is above a 2 (mg/L), we strongly suggest an aerated system for an average household size and usage. These units can be used in conjunction with other treatment equipment as well, such as a water softener.
